Michele d’Alessandro is an Italian-born photographer and artist based in Chicago. His fine-art practice explores time and light as the fundamental framework through which humans experience reality. By altering this framework through long exposures and controlled lighting, d’Alessandro creates surreal figures and scenes directly in-camera, without digital aid. This stretching and breaking of time suggests that reality holds more than what is immediately visible, and that the same world can be experienced in many different ways.
